I am in love with these bangles! I want like 4 of the antler ones and they are always sold out! and these monograms are so unique and cute! I just discovered Sweet Tea Jewels on IG yesterday and there are so many I want now!

I'm not normally a vest kinda girl, but these are so cute. I own all these, so I know they're cute! I found the Kate Spade puffer on eBay! Sadly it made my day! However, my herringbone vest came from groopdealz! for half the price, too! They still have them every so often, and here's the link to the deal I bought mine from just in case you're wondering!

and totes, I just cannot carry anything else! I gotta have a big bag to throw all my crap in! and literally, it is a lot of crap. I try to clean it out every other day! Right now I am carrying the Coach Taxi tote (another casualty of Instagram), and I bought a black Marion Slouchy tote from Tory Burch on Black Friday, but I think I like this one more! Mine is slouchy and won't stand up on it's own which kinda bugs me!

Teacher Week! WHO I am!

Welcome to Blog Hoppin's Teacher Week!!!
I love this little "all about the teacher" time each year!

I kinda feel like I have talked about myself enough last week, but here's a little more info!
I look just like my mom, don't I! I even teach in her old room now! That picture is a few years old, but it's too great not to use!

I am the epitome of the oldest child! and I married an oldest child. I know I could not have married a youngest! No offense to my little sis or anything!

And I also want to show you a little freebie from Melissa from Inspire Me ASAP that I use to teach the kiddos a little about me! Check out her first test of the school year post!

I can't very well talk about me without talking about my boys. No matter how much I am ready for them to go back to school...I adore them! Though with the screaming and fighting going on right now, they're making it very difficult!
Jackson-the oldest, never disobeys, adult pleaser, typical oldest!
Jake-the bain of my existence! because he is hubs and I rolled out into one mighty little human. Smart mouthy, always the victim, very independent and prefers to be alone, very intelligent, and lips to die for!
Drew-another stereotype here! Our youngest is the life of the party! He wants everyone to laugh all the time! Happiest kid on the planet!
I love reading about birth order! It's like someone wrote this about my kids!

I'm the blonde one! with my beautiful sis!

SO a quick little bio! I'm Rachel, the tattooed teacher. I by no means have more tattoos than a few other teacher bloggers I know, but they are not public about it! haha! I am starting my 12th year teaching! that sounds crazy! It's my 5th year teaching 2nd grade. Before that I was all about 4th grade! I love the little guys in 2nd! seriously! they are like sponges and love me no matter what!

let me explain this one-I DO NOT do this which is why it is now my quote...I'm working really hard on this one! and if you have never heard Stephen Covey's voice, you are in for a treat! I wish I had seen him in person! Here's one of my favorite videos!

teacher week! 10 fun things about me

It's teacher week 2013 and I am so excited to share and read about y'all!

If you don't already know, I'm an overshareer. I tell too much sometimes. There's not much I won't say aloud. So here are 10 things that are NOT on my about me page! mostly!

1. I cuss like a sailor. Not sure why. I wasn't raised that way for sure! I wasn't even allowed to say fart as a kid! We has to say "aired"! Ok, that's probably why I cuss! My favorite curse word is d-bag!

2. I commit to hair color as much as I commit to blog designs! I love change and I get bored of looking at the same things. One day I am going to share all the blog designs I have had within the past 2 years! ANd FYI, it's beign changed as we speak! 

3. AND...my hair is not even close to blonde! I have been coloring my hair since I was in 8th grade. It's been hot pink, blue (with kool-aid, never use it by the way), dark brown, light brown, super blonde, reddish, blonde highlighted, and is currently just that. Naturally it's fairly dark brown.

4. I'm obsessed with television. I always had a tv in my bedroom. My list of shows I watch regularly is embarassingly long. But I watch nothing when it airs. We don't even have cable at home right now and I watch Netflix all day! So ol' faithfuls are Big Bang, Law and Order (any of them), The Office, Seinfeld, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, 48 Hours, Snapped, or any other investigation show, Bones, and the Real Housewives of Anywhere. New favorites include Revenge, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black (must see!). 

5. I have big feet. I wear a size 9. I am 5'1"...doesn't make sense!

6. I can copy any font. If I see it, I can usually draw it. But I cannot just do it on my own! I actually type what I want to write, project it on my screen, and copy it on my anchor charts...

7. I tear up at any kind of performance. There is something about someone putting out their all that gets to me. I tear up at PE club unicycle performances, musicals, plays, esp. if it is children. 

8. I do not exercise at all. I wish I liked running. I want runners' legs!

9. Sleeping is my favorite hobby. I am always ready for bed by 8pm. And I can still sleep til 10am easy. I love summer for that reason alone!

10. I have restless legs. If you do not, it sounds really made up! But y'all, it ain't no joke! And in the summer when my mind is racing and my days are not, it is terrible! I am not good at relaxing and that does not help!

so here are my "schooltime" morning must-haves

first things first-hair care {or lack of probably!}

I have very straight, fine but thick hair...and I have dark brown hair which most people do not realize because it hasn't been that color since 8th grade! I adore the smell of Bed Head's Colour Goddess. It smells like caramel! I also use Big Sexy hair's Powder play. In the past I always used baby powder to give my roots a boost. I still do a lot because it's cheap and works, but this powder is for really-o! My hair looked great even after field day! Perfect for humidity and fine hair that falls limp! I live by my Chi. {I got mine at Target for 100$} I have straight hair, but I like it straight. I'm not as faithful to my heat protection for my locks, but I am attempting to grow it out, so I need to get better with that!

I am not a water drinker by any means. I normally only do Diet Coke or Diet Sundrop, but this stuff is amazing! I drink one each morning during guided reading. It tastes good and according to the label makes non-morning people more tolerable! That's me!

My grade level used Heidi's Common Core Morning Workbook {Early Birds}. I LOVE, love, love these books! They progressively build skills and vocab. They are truly a blessing for this teacher who needs a little "me" time in the am, even if for just 10 minutes.

We check it together under the doc camera right after the tardy bell. One kiddos per day is our checker. They love being the checker! Go grab this NOW! She also has a first grade version. Plus we bought the homework and fluency books. I can say "we" because when you purchase, she allows grade level usage which is awesome! I'll probably pick up the morning messages for next year too! Heidi is so through and all her stuff looks professional.

when I am not in school or have a worksop, one of these are my daily breakfast choices. I hate when I sleep and miss the 10:30 breakfast cutoff at McDonalds! I am really into the sausage McMuffin with egg whites. Yum-o!

and every morning while I am waiting on Jake to get ready, or when there is a small break in the am, I have my phone! I bought this case on very jane. The green matches my Diet Sundrop can! In fact, I did not even have an iPhone 5 when I bought it. So I guess I upgraded my phone just for this case!

Red-Do you have a Sweet Frog? I was instantly attracted because their logo has a frog that's nearly identical to Keropi! It's a frozen yogurt bar or sorts. I always get the peanut butter and chocolate. I think I need to go this weekend. I've been trying to unload 10 or so pounds and havent't been in awhile!

Orange-Well, I had a 3 month old when I started college at 18, so I didn't really have a "college life". So I will say our court house wedding is my favorite! I wouldn't go back and change a thing! Jeans and all!

Yellow-I am an NC State Wolfpack fan by marriage. We also have PSLs for the Carolina Panthers, though we sell more tickets than go to games! Bu my favorite teams are BH1 and BH Giants {my kids' teams!}

Green-easy. hands down McDonalds. breakfast. lunch. dinner. 

Purple-And the tattooed teacher is now on Facebook! I'm giving it a whirl! 

I'm addicted to Instagram so I figured I could post words, too!
