Sitewide TpT Sale!

As I'm sue you know, tpt is having a little sale...
YIPPEE!!
Because Lord knows I don't have enough resources and clipart! ha! I have so much goodness from my friends at TpT, I don't even know what I have anymore!
But that has never stopped me before!

Here's a few March-y things I'll be using!

I love a graphic organizer, Yes I do! I bet you would love this pack of them too!

Tons of silly activities and centers for your special stories!

We started our weather unit this week!

If you loved my Saint Valentine unit, this one is just like it! LOVE these little holiday history lessons!

We'll be getting our Mush on the second week of March! I have these centers for your littles (1st and 2nd grade).

and here's a collection of my most favorite activities with the Iditarod in mind! It also comes with a big freebie tucked away inside! At least until March 7!

St Pat's Fun

I cannot believe I am posting before an actual holiday!
I blogged about what I do on St. Patrick's Day to meet my standards and have a little fun too!
Check it out!

st. pat's part two and truths revealed

Today we finished up as much as I could handle of St. Paddy's Day fun.
But the highlight of the day was them watching me pour Lucky Charms during indoor recess.
You'd think they had never seen cereal! It's those little things!

oh the horror! of sweeping up little crunchies of cereal for the next week! This little gal won sit at the teacher's desk. Why do they love that!? It's almost as popular as use the teacher's supplies!

Working hard and Heaven IS for Real Y'all! {see his bracelet!}
All my kiddos are talking about The Bible on History...have you seen it?
Our school is not very diverse when it comes to religion. It's all southern around here!

I've gained a few little helpers after school. They really are probably trying to get out of after school care, but I welcome the help most days.
Today we got all our lil' leprechaun cuties hung. Each year I read Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? by Dr. Seuss. I love it because it is all about being thankful for what you have because it really could be worse. Our little babes at school are very much on the lower income side of town. A lot of them get their meals right here with me each and every day. So these responses are especially meaningful!

I LOVE all the exclamations on this one! And I wish you could read the other. So stinkin' sweet! Some of them really do know we are blessed.

And I am IN LOVE with our board this year! I found a great idea on Clutter Free Classroom for using paint chips as a rainbow border. So... Mr. Lamb and I took a little trip to Lowe's.  And no, I didn't ask! I just grabbed a few of each and went back through the aisle as we left, too. However, they do not have a real RED?? What's up! And I inherited an obscene amount of little nifty bulletin board randomness from my mom. Like this shiny shamrock stuff! She had it all! Every holiday! And those letters were colored by my little after school helper, too!

If you still want to snag any of these activities, they are still half price on TpT! The file includes both the Lucky Me writing page and the Lucky Charms data book, plus 5 other activities!

I never changed the price, so I just decided to leave it til tomorrow. I did take down the freebie Lucky Me writing because it contained a picture of my bulletin board which I modeled after the girls' board over at Lesson Plan SOS. So, I do not want to step on toes!

 **rewind to yesterday's post!**

I WAS asked to pay for the school dance as a teacher
I WAS asked to not run in the hall as a teacher
both of these happened in my earlier years
I have NOT however, ever been asked to not use the staff restroom!
Good thing, too!

The dance incident was in the school office and witnessed by a few parents who still crack up about it!

I did want to share out middle lamb's birthday invite we worked on last night.
I am such a procrastinator! He didn't really give an opinion about the locale and normally we would've had it at home. But we are not living at home since it is still for sale...so no can do!
Nevertheless, I think they turned out pretty cute!

Off to rest. I swear I have a fever...and the prescription is not more cowbell!

waiting to get sick, but having a sale!

here's how our family's week has gone
do not read if you are afraid of puke

Saturday middle lamb comes home from baseball practice and immediately throws up blue Gatorade
Monday Mr. Lamb starts and is still sick!
Last night little Lamb starts. And dare I say we'd had sushi...I mean, have you ever seen recycled seaweed?
So I am pretty much waiting to get it at this point.
Maybe I'll lose a few of those pesky pounds that aren't going away...

But in the meantime, tomorrow we will be having a little St. Pat's fun!
here's how I left the room today
this is the Pot of Gold activity from my St Patrick's Day pack! I love it! They will have to count their "gold" (coins), represent the total two ways, then exchange pots with a friend and create a double bar graph.
and below is what my kiddos have started doing. As soon as they finish a craft, they take it upon themselves to display it. Mind you, these are only halfway complete. We will do the writing tomorrow...
I don't know whether to be proud or irritated that they continue to think they are in charge!
lil' leprechaun cuties from first grade fever

My file will be half price through Monday! Go and snatch it up!

St. Pat's Fun and Networked Blogs

Have you noticed the "networked blogs" on the sidebars? I never really paid much attention to it, but today while visiting Erica's blog I checked it out. So glad I did! It is just an awesome way to read the blogs you follow and network! I signed up this little blog, so check it out! I love the reader because it is clearer and easier than Google Reader which I use if I'm on the mac.
See, it's pretty awesome, right!?

As you know, Rachel Greene Lamb loves her some St. Patrick's Day! For obvious reasons. I love green! Every time I write green I put an E on the end and have to go back and erase it. habit

So here's what we will be up to this week. One day I may work up the time to do visual plans because I love seeing them, but with required online plans due each Monday-it's all I can muster up!

We will dive right into St. Patrick's Day writing because I just got their Seuss writing up and all! Sheesh!  We make Christie's Leprechaun cuties to display with our lucky writings.

About mid-week we will begin learning more about the history and customs for St. Paddys. I love each and every part of this file. I begin with the interactive mini-book. Then I show them a video clip about the Blarney Stone and we write about what persuasive things we would say to others! What would you talk people into doing? I'd have to say WORKING QUIETLY! hahaha

The file also has a super fun center or morning surprise money activity. I bought the little pots of gold at Party City last year and filled them with our money manipulatives. What's great is that you can control how much money goes in their pots. My higher level mathematicians get more to count up! To use as a center, just have the kiddos scoop coins into their pots!

They sort the money using the sorting mat if needed, then make a double bar graph with a partner.

Last but certainly not least, Friday we will do the ye old Lucky Charms activities. but on our level. Since Common Core, I knew the old sort and graph just wasn't going to cut it, so I made my own! Now we tally, write comparison statements, assign monetary value and count, create equations, and answer some difficult questions concerning place value. I love it! Plus is takes a good amount of time...not that I need them to work quietly for any extended period of time or anything...

So what are your St. Patrick's Day plans?

a Rafflecopter giveaway

53.8 pounds and an Easter Egg Hunt

First off, I am really tired of Lucky Charms switching up their marshmallows every single year-stick with what works people! That said, as we sorted yesterday using my little booklet, we had NO stars and did have shamrocks-so we improvised cause that's what teachers do and recorded shamrocks in the star column. Regardless-I adjusted the file on TpT
Second of all-they LOVED the pots of gold that greeted them Friday morning! Of course they wanted to keep the little pots, but …! It was just enough challenge to keep them thinking! Worked perfect!

Around mid-morning during some partner questioning practice we had a few teachers form another district come in and watch how we roll. I don’t know who told them Friday in my room would be good {or any day because we are pretty wacky!} but we entertained them nonetheless. And the quote of the day {we should really write these things down you know} was one of my kiddos saying his bones hurt, I responded that maybe he was growing {he’s pretty teenie} and he laughed and said “Hardly, I’ll weigh 53.8 pounds forever!” Geez! But like I said, we aim to entertain!
After lunch we made our Leprechaun Pie. It’s pistachio pudding and you can either take it or leave it {I’ll leave it} but it’s fun to watch them try new things each month.

This is was made for my former TA who helped me make snazzy snacks each month last year! I always send one down to her. Aren’t these precious!
I just uploaded an Easter Egg Math Hunt I did last year and loved! Student teams hunt for all their group’s eggs {assigned colors} and when they finish, they work together to solve the story problems. I just picked up some 12 packs of eggs at Dollar Tree with 6 different colors per pack. That’s perfect because I like having smaller teams so I’ll have 6! Check it out on TpT and Teacher’s Notebook
