Five for Friday April 17

It's five or fraturday since I started my post last night and forgot to finish!

In all honesty I really do not have that much to share. My week was pretty ho-hum.

We made these little money butterflies to add some color to our room and review our money counting skills after spring break (which was last week.)

I'm back to my diet and visiting my nutritionist every week again!! I've been a bad bad eater for about a month and chocolate is my go to food. Isn't it funny that there is a vitamin water zero right next to 25 chocolate munchkin donut holes! #irony

I did officially launch and an Etsy shop too! That was exciting! I don't expect to get rich off of it but I do love making prints and I figured I could share them! And a lot of them will be things I make for my school, classroom, or home office so here's a lot of teachery things. You can use the code WELLHELLO at any time as a blog reader to get a discount!!

So I had to get a new printer too. Obviously. This is like the only laser printer that is color and wireless...my 2 must haves! AND I only paid around $200!

HP LaserJet Pro 200 M251nw Wireless Color Printer (CF147A#BGJ)

And...it's officially baseball season around here! Now that middle lamb is 10, we get later games. Monday's game was called at 10pm. And we were only in the fourth inning! I like to be in the bed watching tv or reading by 8, so this will not conducive to my sleep cycle! Which at the moment is like 2am-12pm...so it's not too conducive to my job either!

I hope your week was a little more exciting than mine. Here's to the weekend! Go link up with kacey too!

Five for Friday Seuss Week Edition! {freebie!}

This was our first FULL week in almost a month! Between Leader in Me Symposium, Leadership Day visits, and SNOW it's been kinda crazy. And it's been exhausting too! Nothing like returning work full swing on Read Across America Week! So here's what we were up to this week!

It's an EXTREMELY busy board, but I love it and everyone stops by to check it out! I bought the Seuss Camera app two years ago and I always use it, but this year I had them printed at Walgreens! So cute! and perfect for these little mini expert books! They range from a few about Pokemon, to chicken (as in the food), to Darth Vader (that's mine!) Here's a little tutorial on accordion folds if you need it, but it's really a no brainer! None of mine were perfect! I made 3 per sheet of white construction paper. They just worked on them while they were not in a guided reading group.

I love these! We are adding a little Leader in Me writing to them too, but here's where they hang their art as they finish! They love putting it on the board for "inspiration"! Download it here! You don't have to be a Leader in Me school to use it! I only added the 7 Habits to the large size writing paper! I also included ways my kiddos and I thought the Cat used the habits!

We had a different theme each day! But this is the only one I got a picture of! boo!

happy weekend!
and don't forget the Iditarod Sled Dog Race begins MONDAY! (they moved it back due to weather). So go grab my classroom activities file while there's still a freebie inside!!

Artskills {Decor you never knew about!}

Many, many, too many months back I was sent a tremendous package in the mail! I do love free stuff!
This is the company that has all the cool poster making products (I use the sticky letters on my pennants!)
But they have a full line of learning decor available at Dollar General!

I mean, who does handwritten cards!? Super awesome!

Literally full of goodness. There are incentive charts, incentive class posters (smart cookies!), notepads, markers, scratch off coupons, certificates, posters, birthday display, borders, erasers, window clings, and about anything you can imagine!

I figured I could use a lot with our 4 year old like the handwriting tablet...

and the incentive charts...

but as it turned out, our 3rd grader needed both! When he saw the handwriting tablet he said his teacher had one just like it for cursive. Well, babe, I cannot read your print! practice ahead!
And when he gets 10 smiles for getting up without drama or tears, he gets a reward too!

I cannot wait to use these! I thought they'd be too young, but I made a sheet where they justify the sequence for our writing time. Love them!

Here my man's using our Big Word of the Day cards!

These are all perfect for math centers! I love that shape spinner for "read" the room!

and sticker for my sight word books from Sarah Cooley!
every package is labeled with areas it meets

So go check it out next time you stop by Dollar General to pick up some last minute food or toy that you need for a lesson the next day!

The opinions in this post are mine. I was given the products in exchange for my honest opinion.

five for friday...bulletin boards!

here's a little randomness from my week! I think I beat poor Kacey to the punch since she's back at work, but I need this little linky!

I actually got an entire {kid-free} day to work on my classroom yesterday!
Today we had furniture deliveries and garage door repairs scheduled, Monday is my last day with my boys, and I officially go back Tuesday. And we all know that means MEETINGS!
I still have little stuff to take care of, but the decorating is done for the most part! Is it ever really done...
and I really need to get to planning with my teammies next week!
But here are some pictures! I am thrilled with how my rotation boards are coming...why didn't anyone remind me to bring a level!!
anchor chart board

math workshop board...almost!

my new file cabinet!!

daily 5 board...almost! adorable posters from Lindsay!

and my veggie patch friends on their new chair from Walmart!

and don't forget to snag all your back to school needs this weekend! I know my cart may be a tad full...!

monday made it! busy girl!

it's monday made it time!!

Oh, woe is me!
I wasn't sure I was ever going to finish. I always sometimes seem to let projects get a little carried away. But I finally got Vintage Chalkboard decor bundle uploaded!
And it's half price today!
If you pick it up, I'd love to hear what you think!

another file {and one that I adore!} is my new reading rotation board.

I won't get into this too much because I'll post about it later, but I went with a fun stache theme for the board! It includes rotation choices, numbers, and student name labels for the group signs and even their notebooks! So excited...but the bad news is I ran out of ink last night!
because I was printed these...

these are the whole brain subway art rules that I shared last week. They needed to be framed...So frame I did! I found these wooden frames for $2 each at Michaels. They do not have glass, just plastic inserts so I feel fine about hanging them above my board. I LOVE them!

I always keep boxes in the garage for just this reason! The spray paint is called ocean breeze and it's also from michaels. It cost more than the frames!

Another project is super long-awaited. I finally made my R-E-A-D letters to hang in my room! I knew I wanted a mix of patterns because that's just how I am. I finally got a scrapbook pack that suited me just fine! I love them too! The letters were $1.99 each and I used my 40% off for the scrapbook paper. There's a lot left over!

I also made these binder covers for my kiddos' communication binders this year. Our school's theme is a racing theme {not my thing} but Nikki makes it oh so cute! These are listed {as is} free on TpT!

I technically did not make this, but I had to do all the printing and stapling! This was my phonics focus board, but I neglected it and I loved the frame on it too much to take it down. So now it's my strategy focus board! I loved Amy's idea of putting a little something next to our current strategy. I may have a few bird board decorations I could spare! And I need to realign it a little. I printed two to a page so they would all fit.
Strategy posters from Teri
frame from Hobby Lobby and I used velcro to attach to the paper and I also stuck push pins on the upper corners.
lime green fadeless paper from Mardel {I've never seen the Lime green in a store so I order it}
Chevron border in teal from Creative Teaching Press

happy crafting!

st. pat's part two and truths revealed

Today we finished up as much as I could handle of St. Paddy's Day fun.
But the highlight of the day was them watching me pour Lucky Charms during indoor recess.
You'd think they had never seen cereal! It's those little things!

oh the horror! of sweeping up little crunchies of cereal for the next week! This little gal won sit at the teacher's desk. Why do they love that!? It's almost as popular as use the teacher's supplies!

Working hard and Heaven IS for Real Y'all! {see his bracelet!}
All my kiddos are talking about The Bible on History...have you seen it?
Our school is not very diverse when it comes to religion. It's all southern around here!

I've gained a few little helpers after school. They really are probably trying to get out of after school care, but I welcome the help most days.
Today we got all our lil' leprechaun cuties hung. Each year I read Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? by Dr. Seuss. I love it because it is all about being thankful for what you have because it really could be worse. Our little babes at school are very much on the lower income side of town. A lot of them get their meals right here with me each and every day. So these responses are especially meaningful!

I LOVE all the exclamations on this one! And I wish you could read the other. So stinkin' sweet! Some of them really do know we are blessed.

And I am IN LOVE with our board this year! I found a great idea on Clutter Free Classroom for using paint chips as a rainbow border. So... Mr. Lamb and I took a little trip to Lowe's.  And no, I didn't ask! I just grabbed a few of each and went back through the aisle as we left, too. However, they do not have a real RED?? What's up! And I inherited an obscene amount of little nifty bulletin board randomness from my mom. Like this shiny shamrock stuff! She had it all! Every holiday! And those letters were colored by my little after school helper, too!

If you still want to snag any of these activities, they are still half price on TpT! The file includes both the Lucky Me writing page and the Lucky Charms data book, plus 5 other activities!

I never changed the price, so I just decided to leave it til tomorrow. I did take down the freebie Lucky Me writing because it contained a picture of my bulletin board which I modeled after the girls' board over at Lesson Plan SOS. So, I do not want to step on toes!

 **rewind to yesterday's post!**

I WAS asked to pay for the school dance as a teacher
I WAS asked to not run in the hall as a teacher
both of these happened in my earlier years
I have NOT however, ever been asked to not use the staff restroom!
Good thing, too!

The dance incident was in the school office and witnessed by a few parents who still crack up about it!

I did want to share out middle lamb's birthday invite we worked on last night.
I am such a procrastinator! He didn't really give an opinion about the locale and normally we would've had it at home. But we are not living at home since it is still for sale...so no can do!
Nevertheless, I think they turned out pretty cute!

Off to rest. I swear I have a fever...and the prescription is not more cowbell!
