super duper target find and a Halloween pack preview!

I managed to stay home today. It’s not a mandated day, but we had a required workshop. Can I tell you how foul my mood has been this week. No-I just didn’t blog. I’ve been foul. Bless em

But I explained I needed a day with my own personal kiddos and now I’m here, with a sore throat cause it’s finally below 85 degrees, and happy!

And what’s a day off without a trip to Target?! I mean we needed milk and costumes!

So here’s what I found

I drive a little Infiniti. I had all 3 kiddos! But we scored every last candy apple red storage stool they had left-6! Perfect for my guided reading table. I had great dreams of making crate seats. 6 candy apple red crates sit in my garage. they match my candy apple red library book baskets. I don’t feel like making them. These are better! annnnndddd…on clearance for $8 woot! they are soft faux suede. Ah. Maybe they will sit still on them! ok, probably not.

Now for what I’ve been doing all day and every night this week…I’ve turned my old reading response sheets for my favorite spooky season read alouds into a common core aligned pack! So excited! I have updated, added to, and completely rehauled this stuff. I love it! It includes a Hallo-weiner writing craftivity, activities with Room on the Broom, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and Spookley!

and I also got my personal fav uploaded-tattooed rachel everyday! I used it in my pack, too! So cool

the pack will be up soon-I’m needing it proofed. I am also updating my Day of the Dead stuff, working on a writing center idea using iSpy wonder tubes, phonics bingo for the year-my kiddos love this, and 12 Days of Common Core Christmas too!!! too much lying awake at night!

Frugal Finds and Technology Triumphs!

After yet another trip to Target today {to find my oldest lamb a case for new iPhone…ahem} I left with about 45$ of school supplies. For me.
Best thing EVER!!

Make your own Crayola box! There are about 12 color scheme/theme options. I made a set and my up and coming 2nd grader made himself one too! Now to keep his teacher from taking them next year! She’s my teammie of course! and a coloring freak as well. {fyi-I did take a shot of the choices we ended up with, the picture is in the cloud somewhere!} I chose the 1st three in the top row and he chose the 3 at the bottom!}
After picking up some new Duck tape designs, my oldest Lamb informs me I have a duct tape issue. How keen of him. Well they have different designs in the school supply section than in the hardware section! How was I to know!
Picked up some monsters and foodies! So cute!

Also snagged some Dum-Dums for my Monday made-It, more time flash cards, those Quick Quiz booklets everyone is blogging about, and extra magnetic dry erase erasers. My students keep these in the side of their desks. I am adding their numbers to them this year. They are awesome!

Technology Trials and Triumphs
Finally got threaded comments to work! yea!! The tutorial on Simple Blogger worked with my template! None of the other tutorials I found did, so I am thrilled.
I am still ill with my network printer situation. It never starts printing immediately. I have to restart my computer before it will start…ugh. Really, if you know a fix!
until tomorrow

Just send my check to Hobby Lobby

An innocent enough trip to Hobby Lobby for ribbon and a tri-board did not bode well for the ol’ checkbook. But, I could spend hours in that place! It was just me and littlest Lamb today and he was on a mission to find a toy. He ended up with these from the clearance! He loves to pose.

And here’s my swag for school. You’ll notice all the following pictures are from my car’s backseat and trunk. They could possibly be used as incriminating evidence of shopping, so this is where they’ll stay!
sweet birdie {I’m all owls, trees, and birds in my room} Used the 40% coupon on this one. He’s pretty big. I will hang him above the library with my FICTION letters {more to come on those} See in the background…The huge daisy will join other ones for a display in a corner near my guided group table. And that’s a roll of weathered wood fadeless paper for my Power Pix board!

Here’s a gorgeous door handle knob for my school bag to hang. It was 50% off! Have you browsed in this girly section of Hobby Lobby?! There are some frames that will be mine by week’s end!

and here’s some recent goodies from target. My dollar spot just changed over! Here’s a fair warning about my mood for my students! I love Mr. Men! And Lorax pencils! I also found these posters I will hand out to students of the month. Many of my kiddos cannot afford poster board, so they never have a poster to display. There are 10 in a pack. And here’s the sign of the moment…My way or the Highway! and a lovely little marker board for things to do. Every thing below was $1.

I fell in love with this bright red color. I am changing my nonfiction library baskets from white to this. It will look great paired with my green ones! I buy the entire stack every time we go. I think 3 stacks should be enough!

Hit up the party section! Last year I snagged fabric pennants with cupcakes. They no longer have fabric ones, but they have paper ones in this bright pattern. I have those and these paper lanterns. And this week they have these tissue flower garlands. Each lantern and pennant set was $5.99. The garland was $6.99

Pay day, a little Target shopping, and a freebie

Finally payday; and that long awaited trip to Target was on! We first made a stop by Michael's to get a few supplies for a gift for each of my teammates. I’ll be mod-podged later on! Also found some rainbow ombre colored poster board! woo-hoo!
At Target I picked up a tub for my big books that came with our Reading Street series. I had to make a little signage too. Inspired by a Pinterest…shared with you!

Back to School Shopping at Target...seriously!

I love back to school shopping, especially at Target. Today they were stocking the shelves with fresh notebooks, pencils, crayons, and markers. I had to get a few things of course. My favorites were a step stool and a lifelike cupcake pillow in the home section! So stinkin' cute! The cupcake's all mine kiddos! They also have an ice cream bar and pizza pillow-maybe another day. SOme other goodies included mini magnetic dry erase markers for the kiddos to stick to their math boards (Dollar spot), mini composition books for guided reading notebooks (2 for $1), and a fabric pennant banner in the party supplies for $3.99. I got 2 of these! oh, and I had to snag a composition book just for me!
