Three things that I believe I cannot live without...and oh so cute!
each one of these ladies has an amazing sense of design and style! so uber talented!

and now for some academia!
each of these ladies truly knows what a good product needs! and are very thorough!
Student Scrapbook from Erica
this is a perfect portfolio for the year! Parents will love it too!
Final blends and digraph posters and activities from Katie King
I am posting these behind my guided reading table and making the mini ones for groups!
Shades of meaning activities and 411 Short reading articles from Jen Jones
I want to use these with my higher readers-they are relevant and very well written!
2nd Grade Math interactive notebook from Blair Turner
obvious one here! This product was highly recommended to me by our 3rd grade team!
and I'm always looking for ways to kick off the year with Daily 5!

and what are a few things I already own (or made) that I recommend?
Pair up my genre posters (the colorful or bold set) with Michelle's Focus Board-perfection!
I am cutting labels for mine right now!

another file that I get lots of use out of is my word sort pack! you can use the ideas with any list! and I know I am on my third different required program where I teach!

Need some spelling, you say? Well, aren't you in luck! My sweet friend Amanda JUST posted this bad boy! A complete differentiated spelling file!

need some writing? well, well...I have used these for awhile! Jamie combines a love of writing with the curriculum that shall not be named into some amazing products! with tons of options!

Need some borders for your own products? who doesn't need new borders! Snag Bubbly's newest set (Julia borders) which I have used on all my new products! Cause they're awesome!

an exhausted five for fraturday...win $200!

It's a back to school Five for Friday!
I survived my first week back.
I went to bed by 8pm for the past 3 nights!
Like Abby said, there ain't no tired like teacher tired!

this is from Amy's Let's get Started pack. I love it for the first weeks of math

we are up to 11:45:04! Yes, we count up to the tenth of a second! Every second counts! When we beat 10 minutes we did a little Despicable Me Just Dance! When we beat 11 minutes, we danced on our desks! Thanks C. Jayne Teach for that little gem! fyi-I have a student with a prosthetic leg...he danced on his desk too! melt my heart

I love Amanda Gregory's Back to School Buddies file! I used this Pal Ponderings interview after we discuss how to listen to each other. They have to go back and forth taking turns and record their friend's answers to the questions.

I got into a minor bump up on Thursday afternoon. Poor kid! Let's hope his insurance pulls through...boo!

Day 2 of school and I was already wearing glasses and hair was pulled back! I try to expose the kids to everyway I may wear my hair the first week of school! Lots of combos: ponytail with contacts, ponytail with glasses, hair down with contacts, hair down with glasses, hair curled with glasses, hair curled with contacts! That way I won't have to hear reactions later on!

and if you've read this far...you deserve a chance to win! 10 winners will win a 200$ giftcard to one of these stores...come on J. Crew!! Madewell! Anthropologie!! TARGET!!

how I survive the first week of school

I am not ashamed to tell you every.single.thing I do the first week of school someone else made! I think it's hectic enough to just leave my house on time, let alone recreate the wheel!
So here's how I survive!
This is the second year I have used Amy's math plans! Obviously you put your own spin on it and add things specific to my classroom and district requirements. But it is nice to see how she took her file and laid it out for me!

The last thing I want to think about ANY time of the year is morning work! This is my second year using Second Story Window's Morning Work. It is phenomenal! I also have the fluency homework, common core homework, and morning messages!
I love Heidi and Emily!

Oh, and not to mention I own each and every one of these packs! I use a hodgepodge of crafts and activities. I change each year depending on what we get through each day!

And certainly do not be fooled! We do not get to half of this! Here's my proof!

best and most linky! High School style and the sale!

I'll admit, I loved high school! I had a blast...probably a little too much, but it all worked out!
I am linking up with awesomely amazing Christina today to share my Best and Most senior superlatives style!

So my teacher's pet are my Common Core displays! I love throwing these into my pocket chart and not having to think! Of course the 2nd grade ones are my pet, but I have 2-4th grade! And I have full size, pocket chart size, I can kid friendly statements, and statements taken directly from CCS. So there is something for everybody! You can see mine displayed in this tree pocket chart {from Oriental Trading} here! The ones I personally use are these...the half page size in kid-friendly language

Most likely to help my students succeed: that'd be my word sorts! These don't have word lists {we use words their way} but I explain what each type of sort is, have anchor charts, and center cards. This is a great file for those who are new to sorts and need a little more help implementing or even that veteran word sorter who likes things ready to go! {like me}

and best couple...that's my brand new comprehension bundle plus my favorite text features booklet! I have a weird obsession with text features...that's something you don't hear everyday! I love teaching them! Probably because I am obsessed with DK books and Kids Discover magazine! I have my own subscription! I love reading all over the place...pretty much like my ADD train of thought! And each file in this bundle is not only super helpful and chock full of lessons, anchor charts, and worksheets; I am also quite in love with the way they look! And that's important too!

So there you have it! My best and most! And each one of these, along with everything else in my shop is 20% off thru Monday! I tacked on an extra day to the end, but if you want the extra 10%, go shop now and use the checkout code BTS13!
