Easter Freebies!
PLUS, a new little endeavor, too!
Happy Spring friends!
5 for friday on friday!
jury duty Monday and Tuesday
Wednesday work...
Thursday am meeting at the district office with the pm off
then today my kids had the day off
so here's a little randomness from my week as I link up with Kacey again!
I left Hope's rabbit research for them to work on all week.
Wednesday we had a little fiction fun with Easter Bunny Day!
Two kids got to watch us make them.
Yes, I am that mean.
4. What's inside the Easter bunny's workshop?
3. Saturday was middle Lamb's 8th birthday.
As you can see he's a Harry Potter fan and likes to garden. He probably has the strangest interests for a kid his age, but I love that about him! He's very random like his mom! Those cupcakes were amazing-my friend Petie made them!

can't resist a cute bunny bottom! win one!
and it turned into this

little bunny boo-boo
warning,
the following “before and after” pictures may be too graphic for younger viewers
parental guidance is suggested
My baby bunny Wicket came to visit our class Thursday! How I miss him so. They kiddos were super excited to see him again
you may remember he went to live with a student because I have a 3 year old who plays a little too rough with him at home
all fun! all happy happy joy joy
we’re off to visit class number 3…then
freak out!
it was a little too much excitement for one day
I knew better
he tried to get away and got me instead
all down my chest and stomach
the best part is walking around for the rest of the day looking like it was one wild night the day before
but I still love him so
in other news
I didn’t get to half of what I wanted to accomplish this week
but it’s all good, there is always next year!
here is what we did get to enjoy
Jelly Bean Math
this turned out to be perfect for all my kids. I told them they couldn’t look at the jelly beans when choosing them to prevent all one color, but there is always somebody! we had fun and it was a nice break from plain ol’ regrouping practice. you can grab the freebie to use next year here
Bunny Tangrams
Using Lesson Plan SOS’s Some Bunny Knows Tangrams, we made bunnies with paper tangrams {among other animals in the book Grandfather Tang’s Story} as I read through the tale, I made the creatures from the book under the doc cam and they made them in the floor. then we all remade the bunny and decorated them. it also has a great explanation of the history of tangrams
Jelly Bean Science
I used hope king’s jelly bean experiment at the end of the day. they didn’t want to leave for block class! very eye opening. I am pretty sure I said “wow, that really gross” fifty times as I walked around eating them from the bag…
water, salt water, vinegar left to right. we also did baking soda and sprite, but I didn’t capture those!
you can actually see the Starburst logo in the next picture {and that’s just in water! ew}
Bunny Basket Snazzy Snack
cutest snack of the year by far! and so easy!
dessert cup, icing, edible easter grass {Target}, peeps, and easter egg candy {we added marshmallows I had leftover in the closet too}
Spring Break yet?!
Alas, no.
We still have school tomorrow
but then off for 10 days
so I guess that’s good
The great thing is everyone is being so sweet and well-behaved
Did you know today was National Tell a Lie Day?
cause that was a lie
Out of 21 kids, maybe 5 aren’t on the frazzled nerve I have left at this point
I am trying to fill our days with fun things, but they keep ruining it…{insert whiny voice}
Anywho
Today we FINALLY began our expert posters
I say finally because they have been bugging asking about them constantly since I mentioned them last week!
But it’s good they’re excited
We began with our Text Features Guru booklets
I love these so much better than last year’s!
I have been using my editions of Scholastic News we had saved after reading or had not read yet
They are perfect and I didn’t have to drag out the old magazines!
I didn’t get any stinking pictures of our posters in progress today, but I will!
We are also reading the Knuffle Bunny books
After reading the first book I pulled out my baby blanket {yes, it really is, I keep it at school where it is safe from Mr. Cleany pants at home} I told them the tale of Rascal the dog next door who stole it from the yard when I was a wee thing and ran off with it. Of how I got it back, but it was all messed up. Of how it is 30 years old and getting ratty. Of how soft it is. Oh man, they were sticking their little noses in it so hard I thought they might inhale it!
This lead to the lost toy stories
These came from Hope King's unit {one of the BEST things I have ever bought on TpT btw}
I remember this one’s ne-ne {paci} from when I taught her sister and do you see the reward for Piplup!
At to end our day today we had our Easter Egg Math Hunt
I just knew they would love it
I just knew we would work together and leave their problems behind
I was just wrong
they loved the egg hunt
they found the eggs the 4th graders hid for us in the courtyard
they refuse to get along
they can’t work together
but after some sweet persuasion from the teacher, we got the task completed!
If you are interested, I have this little activity on TpT and TN. It’s so easy in fact, my 3 year old helped me do it last night!
”get in there little booger…get in jail…”{precious!}
and here’s to getting dirty…guess who didn’t want to get their hands in the shaving cream?? BOYS!
We will finish up these eggs tomorrow! I am still working out the kinks. Definitely not as easy as the tutorial made it seem! never is!
I will share this Pinspired project tomorrow!

53.8 pounds and an Easter Egg Hunt
This is was made for my former TA who helped me make snazzy snacks each month last year! I always send one down to her. Aren’t these precious!
