Day 3 of My Favs Giveaways: Creative Market!

OOOHHH! I might love today's the mostest!
maybe!
It's no secret I have a font obsession. It's a healthy obsession expect when it comes to the money I spend on them! And my newest favorite shop to get them? Creative Market!

So today's giveaway is a $20 gift card to Creative Market! You can check out the fonts, graphics, or anything your heart desires! What I love about Creative Market is that it's like a small community! You'll see chicks you know on there (like Kimberly Geswein) and really get into the world of serious graphic design. It's all consuming. I've been making progress towards moving over to the Wordpress platform and this site has shown me all kinds of helpful tools, tutorials, and design ideas!
Oh, and did I mention they have about 6 amazing freebies each week! And while not everything on there would appeal to teachers, so much of it does! Many etsy sellers I know and love are on this site and I know they earn more on it, so I will fully support Creative Market!

font-astic favorites linky

Since I'm still working...I haven't been able to link up with Tara and Monday Made-It! But I love reading about what you all are making and getting more ideas than I have time for!
While reading about one such Monday Made It-I found a font linky
I love fonts, so I had to link up!

they are pretty self explanatory-but I should explain that porn is not my hobby, but a hobby nonetheless! haha!
and I also considered CC Oh Poop for the scent, but regurgitation does have a distinct smell too!
Join in on the fun with the Polished Teacher!

I am reposting my post about how to find the name of a font that you just have to have!!!

We all do it...
we see an amazing font on a file...
we ask what it is!
well, rarely will you get a response...let's face it, sellers have lives too!
So here is how you can figure out that font!

and keep reading because I have found an even easier way!

And What the Font?!? Have you heard of this site? I fist used it to figure out the name of the font Beth Newingham uses all the time about 4 years ago {PS-it's Scrap Circles from Lettering Delights or use Tinker Toy a free similar one!}. Since I have opened three more "cases".
See a font you really want? Like me and the one used in my header?
Well, all you need to do is create a free account and answer a few questions about the font in question.
If that doesn't get you an answer, upload a picture of the font in use. I just uploaded my header image.
Some font genius will come along and solve the mystery for you. They will work until it's an exact match! My header font is called Lady Rene!

fyi, this was my theme back then! See that beautiful font! You'll see it a lot in my files on TpT!

-----Update-----

You can find the name of any font used in a pdf file!

happy font hunting!

so-o-o, so-o-o, fontified

ok, so it took me awhile to get on board, but Ginger convinced me during our little trip to Columbia! I downloaded ifont maker yesterday evening and here’s what we’ve done so far!

I made all mine last night. My 3 year old takes the iPad to mamaw’s house each day and when I opened my app today, he had traced over all my letters! haha

So I had to let everyone make a font. AND now THEY are obsessed! My 13 year old’s and 7 year old's fonts are below. I love Jake’s! He is so creative. Jackson is so by-the-book. Can you not just see their personalities in their fonts!? I have so many ideas now! I may have to take a sick day or something!

Just kidding. But if you have an iPad-buy this app! It’s the only app I’ve ever paid for! I swear! We have them downloaded on the pc and ready to use! I’ll have their little handwriting forever!

I’ll have these and all the others along my sidebar. My sickingly creative friends will be adding some as well. My teammie friend Katie has already caught the bug!

something happened to rachel everyday-my personal fav. But I’ll have it up soon! Thank you to Ginger and Amanda for the inspiration!

Playing catch-up favorite fonts, projects, and books

I love doing series of common topic posts, but I miss out on all the fun stuff sometimes! I am taking a break to join in on some linky parties from these fab bloggers.

Whooo loves fonts?! I do! I’ve done a linky like this before, but my font preferences change with my moods. I am quite moody! Here’s something I HATE though. When I save previews {as in below in ppt picture format} a lot of fonts get cut off….boo! Hopefully you can still see them! And they’re all free cause that’s how I roll

Run Miss Nelsons got the Camera

font linky party

and Miss Nelson also led me to Wordmark.it! Hello!

Next, Amanda’s Favorite class project linky. Honestly I use a lot of hers even when I taught 4th grade. However, my favorite project we do all year is the green screen weather reports. I will post more closer to my unit. But check this out! These are priceless and super easy. I actually did not have access to an actual green screen until this past year. Before I used bulletin board paper!

We watch a lot of weather channel clips, brainstorm what a good report needs using a brace map, then they write a script. I type them up in proper script form and give each partner a copy. They only had the script for 2 days this year! Our tech guy had a last minute change up, but we made do!

And finally, I wanted to link up with Ms. Lindsey because I love picture books. I have my go-to ones I read year after year, and I love finding more ideas. I find so many new ones from your blogs!

The Teacher Wife

Don't let the Pigeon Stay up Late. Love Mo Williems! His books are easy text, but fabulous fun. This is the perfect book for teaching problem and solution! And this little guy is part of my Monday Made It!

Grandfather Twilight
{source}

Grandfather Twilight by Barbara Berger. I’d never have known about this one if it wasn’t for the reading lady! It’s old and tucked away in our public library. I finally got a copy when I got $300 to spend on books this year. Questioning…questioning, questioning, it leaves you with so many!

{source}

Any VanAllsburg book, but The Sweetest Fig is my favorite to read aloud because it’s  just plain crazy! Another great one I use for questioning.

Popcorn (Mini Edition)

Popcorn  by Frank Asch. This is a childhood favorite. It was in my dentist’s office. I always headed straight for it. I have no idea what the draw is, but I love anything from my childhood. It could be used many ways, but this year I read it in conjunction with Tomie DePola’s Popcorn book.

Another fun book is Piggie Pie. I first heard this book when our then curriculum specialist helped me host a Mystery Month with my 4th graders. We journeyed to her classroom and she read this aloud. It’s hilarious! And I found out there’s a sequel. Think a mix between The Night Before Thanksgiving and Three Little Pigs.

So that’s catch up! I hope you saw some new book ideas or fonts, or a project you’d like to try!

Font Freak Linky Party {Who could resist!}

Jenn from Finally in First is having a Linky Party to share your favorite fonts. I heart fonts and find myself using these most often for titles, etc. I almost always use a DJ or CK basic font for the bodies of my stuff so the kiddos can read it! So LINK UP and share your favs, too!
