I'm linking up with Farley for September's Currently!

the washing machine is running-hence I'm thinking about what to wear tomorrow! It's damn near 100 degrees by recess time at noon. But I never, ever, never wear shorts (and yea, we are allowed to)...so I wear my Old Navy or Groopdealz wide leg linen pants. Seriously. I wear a pair probably 3 times a week! I have navy, black, white, and khaki! They are the best pants in the whole world! and...wait for it...they have an elastic band waist like maternity pants! haha! Yes siree! 

I discovered Stephanie's Morning Meeting book last month and I am so glad I did! I tend to start things and not stick with them...morning meeting is one of those things! But her guide and ideas are keeping me going! I use greetings from Christina Bainbridge (they were posted on her website when I started teaching second, so not sure if she still has them!) and we go over our day. I actually write it all out on my chart stand! I have a few littles that can't wait to take over this job! 

Thanks to you fabulous people, my DonorsChoose grant was fulfilled! My projector arrived today! Can't wait to get that baby up and not squint all day!

oh, and I ordered a large scholastic order right before school started. And it was delivered on the first day of school...but, I never got it! what?! Not sure if there was a UPS mix up (they have a time and signature) or if someone jacked it, but I will find you...errr. It really irks me because I ordered the new Minecraft guide for Middle Lamb for his great first week of school and now I don't have it!

and last, but not least...Italy because who doesn't (though my little sis claims it's nasty!) Seattle because I'm stuck in the 90s, and China because I really really really wanna see the terracotta soldiers! and the great wall!

March? really??!!

I can't believe it is already March! Why do the good years fly by!?

I'm loving Farley's new look! Michelle is ah-mazing!! It looks fantabulous! and I love anything with arrows!

so here's what's up currently...

have you all watched true detective yet? I've been patiently demanding hub's watch the first episode so I could keep on watching! We have shows we watch together like, Mad Men, the Killing, etc. and this will be the new one! oh my God! It's so good! and creepy!

I watch a few on my own too! Scandal, The Following, as you can tell, I like killing and law!

I despise planning. I know it's best for me and the kiddos when I am well planned, but I am just not a natural planner! But, alas, it is required I guess!

I tried to finish up a few things before the sale...but I just couldn't! I started something, added to something else. Got my weather passages posted, updated them twice the same day...my mind is crazy! I'll have a poll on my FB page soon! I think I need y'all to help me figure out what needs to be done! 

We will have our student-led conferences in a week and our data really needs to be updated. I have not kept up with it well this year. Probably because I have to keep the same data in 398 different places for my admin and I don't want to look at it anymore!

currently october and a freebie

It's October and I couldn't be happier! I cannot wait for a good trip to Hobby Lobby for some new decor for our new house! I'm really needing a good burlap banner for the fireplace!
My daddy just turned 80 this week and our littlest man will be 5 this month!

It's all pretty self-explanatory. I come home every day and do nothing! I need to clean so bad! Doe anyone else clen at school more than home? and I haven't had my nails filled in for 3 weeks..they're bad!

must haves-gotta get my hair did {it's not at all blonde fyi}, ink for my printer. I'm outta control!, and I LOVE love love my new buddy binder I bought from creekside teacher tales! It's full of math and ELA games for buddies to play! I cannot wait to get it all setup...thus the ink again! She set it up so well and the description makes mine laughable! So much work went into this. I yes, I did BUY it. Not a gift from Tracy! Worth every penny!

currently tardy for the party

a little tardy for the party, but I can't miss a currently!

we have a bunny or two in the new backyard. they are fairly brave to even stick around. right now the two littlest littles are propping up a box with cabbage leaves from my m.i.l's garden to set a trap. though I have explained wild rabbits are not the same as our pet, it doesn't matter. they will continue devising plans.

i love our home. it has character. it was built in 1989, which isn't old per se, but the wood floors aren't perfectly shiny, the air is really loud when it comes on and I feel like i'm in a hotel room at night, and the bottom section of stairs squeaks just enough. I shared pictures of all the paint colors we used. I am not afraid of color! and we hung our first thing on the wall. that's a big step for me! I love it!

I am pretty much consumed in reading blogs, and not school ones! I have been an avid reader of i {heart} organizing for awhile and through pinterest discovered jones design co. oh.my.word. I am glued to my chair going through this girl's home. oh how I love thee. I have started a list of the projects I am doing from her blog. she has amazing tutorials. 

some furniture. we did not have a dining room. we now have a dining room. we had a living room. now we have two living rooms. the two littles slept in bunk beds. now everyone has separate rooms {PTL}. Mr. Lamb and I sleep on the floor. I don't mind, but I'm ready for a bed. Big J is also on the floor because he is getting our bedroom suite which we still haven't moved...plus I am obsessed with Joss and Main and Z Gallerie. Perhaps they need a blogger to review their furniture...

however, I am earning a little money using e-bates. I finally signed up and made 90$ after a small target order! haha!

I need to drop about 10-15 pounds. pronto. I eat whatever whenever. the insanity must stop! we moved to an amazing neighborhood with sidewalks and huge lakefront homes {which I DO NOT live in} so there is no excuse for not getting up and walking to ogle at these homes!

Seeing as how we have not had a family vacation since little D was born, vacay essentials are a distant memory. I need my blanket. mr. lamb brought me from the plane he took to china. it's always around me. it's just the perfect blanket. I need my magazines. I exchange magazines with my teammate during the year. I get us weekly and she gets about anything you can imagine. I got the good end of this bargain. so I have a lot to read up on. I like magazines because I like reading a little here a little there. and I need mr lamb. not in a sappy way. I just like hanging around him.

I'm loving Spring Break...finally!
but I'd really love a trip to the beach!
It's been EIGHT years since we went as a family!
catching up on the Walking Dead with my oldest
we just started Season 2!
If I do not sell my house soon, I'm donating it or something!
Is it me or do people expect you to give your home away these days?!
and my advice to sellers and bloggers that I learned through all this-if you do not use it, just don;t make it!
The hardest thing for me is seeing all the top sellers and thinking,
gosh why didn't I think of that?
But you cannot cover all bases and you shouldn't try.
your products will be shoddy and lack your expertise!
I love teaching science!
My best sellers are my science units...make sense?
If your products should reflect you and your teaching style while still being "generic" enough for others to use, too! (that's also a hard lesson!)

On a funny side note, I have these "leg warmers" at school. Not the 80s kind, but these kids that run to sit directly under my feet at the rug and feel my shoes. I mean, I do have awesome shoes, but I would like to not have to shave my lower legs once in awhile, but nope...not with these leg warmers around. Sometimes I feel a little bit harassed by 3pm and have to tell Mr. Lamb that my touching quota has been met! So maybe these will help?...no. They were pressing on them to see if the spikes would leave dents on their fingers!

thinking I should not be sore from Just Dance! Oh my. I am so outta shape! But we dance to 2 videos each day for a brain break. I stumbled upon them on You Tube and we are so loving it! I love watching them get down! They are so much better than me! Our favs: Super Mario, Beauty and a Beat (ok, my fav, but it's way too hard!), Pump it Up, and anything Flo-Rida. No dirty lyrics and it's just plain old fun! And the Eye of the Tiger is like kick boxing! There are also plenty of Kids ones if you prefer like the gummy bear song.

wanting and needing are pretty self explanatory!

like ronald reagan. with all the presidential reading lately, I love sharing about reagan! I love him! I think of him as my president because he was president when I was born. My uncle worked at the white house and my padres got a congrats letter from him when I was born...so sweet
love riding. alone. in my car. with the music loud. I love 90s alternative. If I could go back in time I'd go to see Nirvana Unplugged. I have an obsession with that album. I'm off to go to McDonalds alone any minute...bliss! I'm also a little obsessed with Thrift Shop right now too! Have you seen the video! ha! It's dirty. earmuffs!
hate rude and rowdy. pretty much describes my class these days. We even had a 2nd grade parent meeting due to the new legislation in our state that says any child who does not meet grade level standards at the end of 3rd grade will remain in third grade. That was a little wake up, but only for the parents that showed up! Do you all have this new legislation?

Loving-honestly, I can't even believe I blogged this week. It was completely unblogworthy! I have never been so ill with a group of kids...{if you do not want to read my ranting, please skip ahead!} I mean, who do they think they are!? 

It's the 100th day of school, we're acting like it's day 1 or 180! 

Sure, just get up during my lessons and toss something in the trash. 

Sure, go ahead and stay seated during the Pledge! 

Sure, turn in work that's not even finished. 

Hey, who minds if I blurt out even when you are speaking one on one!

Um NO

Here's how Thursday went

The school psychiatrist came to observe a quirkball

By the time her 30 mins were up I figured she'd be returning for 22 more observations!

I've never been more embarrassed!

I betcha 5 kids got up during the math lesson on time, which they stink at

All but about 3 blurted out or interrupted me with nonsense at some point

So onto Friday which was supposed to be Snowed in at School Day

It wasn't

It was "Mrs. Lamb is sick of it all, copied 10 worksheets to do without getting up while she met with guided reading groups, then made us walk laps at recess, then made us sit in our assigned lunch seats even though it is "free choice friday", then made us stayed seated during math and do more worksheets on time" Day

Oh, and you didn't finish your classwork because you were staring into space or shirking your work {our word of the week}, well then you got weekend homework!

phew, I'm done

SO Snow Day is Monday

Miss Swamp is in the building and she's kicking ass and takin names!

ON the brighter side, I adore Black History month, I adore Ruby Bridges! and February and March are the best! So here's to the future!

Thinking-I am having Honey Bunch design my new blog template. I chose a pack from Miss Tiina cause I love everything she draws. But I have such an idea in my head, it is hard to explain to someone else what you want! I regret having any preconceived notions about my bloggy baby. I should have gone in wide open...too late! Hopefully I can get things exactly how I see them in the next week. In the meantime, I am sorry Erika schaff...

Wanting-About half of my installed fonts on my Mac are not in my choices when making anything...they are installed in my font book though. I even installed Font Explorer X to fix the problem thinking thousands of fonts were too much for font book, still nada...help me please Genius counter

Needing-other than a good pill or two, I am needing to restrain myself when eating, when fussing, when planning fun days, when sitting in faculty meetings. Just calm down in general...

Pet Peeves-funny you should ask, you probably shouldn't have...I have a whole page of em! Ok, the biggest ones are the word "gist", air quotes, snarky know-it-alls, and gritty foods {wanna read more-visit my ABOUT page at the top!}

Oh, and stretched out clip art...come on people...pull the corners! hehe

Loving-Oh, Mr. Lamb and I don’t really do the gift thing the right way. Our anniversary is 2 days before Christmas, so we sit together and get each other stuff!
He got some awesome retro Converse {yay! I finally brought him to my side} and a new suit. Spiffs!
I picked up a Columbia jacket {all we really need day to day in southern NC} and a Cameo that will remain in the box until we move! I have no room!
My mom really did well this year!
She bought me the tower of Crayola markers, crayons, and the large pack of skinny markers.
My oldest bought me a new pack of Mr. Sketches and my favorite Ticonderoga pencils! You can only find them at Office Depot! What a doll! Don’t give too much credit though-I tell people what I want!

oh yeah!
Thinking-No, I am not already ready for the weekend, but I do go back Thursday to a classroom of kiddos!
But, Friday…my new Mac Book Pro will arrive! Yippee!!
I took the plunge.
Right now I am typing on my Dell laptop whose backlight went out so I had Mr. Lamb bring a monitor from work to use.
It’s ghetto!
I am so excited!
We were heading to the store to buy it today and I just checked the apple site one last time. I noticed there was a place to order as a school, so I typed my school’s name and wha-la! I saved 300$ on my mac book!
Am I the only one who didn’t know this!?
Oh, but I had to give up the iPad to Mr. Lamb. I didn’t have to, but he wanted one and do we really need two?
That remains to be seen.
He put a manly cover on it. I don’t like it, not one bit!
We are getting a school issued one, but I am sure we won’t be allowed to add any apps that are not approved…
wanting-a new blog design.
I want my own.
I bought the package that I want to use, but I just do no think I have the patience to do it myself in a timely manner.
Any suggestions?!
needing-organize! I am organizing all my files into google drive and dropbox, but I need some external storage. I am trying to keep all the clipart off my computer.

Positivity…I need to get on board with the positive patty’s in my life. My teammate says it best. We are aggressive-passive. I jump to accuse. I think people are out to get me and insult me. Probably because they are, right??!
No! I work with some very negative people, it does rub off.
But I cannot let it any longer.
Because I work with some amazing, happy people too!
So, here’s to a year of less sarcasm! More smiley, less snarky! Hey, I ran jogged this morning, so surely I can act nice!
