monday made it! We painted and some WBT subway art

Short and sweet today. My wrists hurt from painting!
We have NEVER< ever, never been allowed to paint our walls at school
and suddenly we are! No complaints here!
My back wall {which is the main focus in the room} was a hideous mauvy color
now it is LOL Green {from Disney Glidden paint!}
I also picked a color for the other walls, but I am not sure I am up for that. Not now any way!

see! It matches my fadeless paper!

and I just rolled out some new updated Whole Brain Teaching classroom rules posters.
Subway art is kinda addictive. I played with these fonts, colors, and sizes for two days!
I am sure I will make some minor changes, but for now they are quite perfect for me!
They are a freebie, so they come as is

and I am currently working on a vintage chalkboard decor pack because I'm kinda in love with the whole idea of it all! I think it's so pretty!

but I will be working on it for awhile because everyday is spent here...

watching Jake's 8 year old All-Star team! We were runners up for the district and are trekking to the state tourney this weekend! Go Bears!! I'm so excited for them! It's hard to get this many boys that are so good and sweet! I love them!
Happy Tuesday "making it"!

  8. I WISH I could paint my wall. I have three that are an off white, which is fine...but one that is this bright primary yellow and it just doesn't go well with my color scheme at all. I've had to work around it by covering it with as much stuff as possible...

    Love the freebie! Thanks!

  10. I think that your freebies are great and the wall matches perfectly! I do have a couple of quick questions about rule #2 "Raise your hand for permission to speak." Is this a WBT rule or your rule? In my classroom the rule is stated, "We listen while others are speaking." Not to say that mine is right and yours is wrong because I was just curious on the need for your students to raise their hands. Does this apply in group discussions as well? Again, I am not trying to criticize I think you are awesome I am just trying to understand this rule. I look forward to your feedback!

    1. Hey there, it is the WBT rule. Trust me, they learn when they can get away with not raising their hands. My 2nd graders do have blurting issues, so I definitely use this one. Of course many teachers wouldn't! To each their own!

  11. That paint color is fantastic!!!! I just moved into a new classroom and the previous teacher painted one wall with a reading and writing focus. I love them and bonus, I didn't have to do it!
Also, thanks for the WBT freebie! The posters are so cute!

  14. I LOVE subway art. It is addicting!
When I had a classroom with cinderblock walls I painted every single wall. SO much work, but I loved it. Your room's green wall looks great.
