I am linking up with Michelle at Fabulous in First again this year for her Christmas Questionnaire!
1. When do you decorate?
Um, not yet??!! I know, but I'm so not into it this year...I'm kinda being a Scrooge. But we did put up a tree Saturday and the little lambs and I decorated it. There's a few decorations around, but not like the past. When I was little I put up my family's tree myself! on Halloween! I lived for it. Perhaps I got it all out of my system early on???
But here's how I decorate my tree. I LOVE the natural decor at Pier One. Last year was our first Christmas in the new house and I didn't feel like searching for the decorations, so I bought all new ones. I'm like that! It's easier! ha!
2. Elf or no elf?
Elf, even though I thought I'd never have one! I actually do more at school with him than home because the boys were kinda old for him. But now that Little Lamb is in school, he;s all about it! So this year Jingles is at home, and he brought a friend, too!
3. Christmas cookies or no baking for you?
I'll manage some sugar cookies
4. Favorite holiday tradition?
Yearly ornaments. My mom bought my sister and I a new ornament each year (she still does) and I carried that tradition on. They do not pick them out! It's a surprise! I love looking at them and seeing how their favorite things have changed! No more Elmo ornaments these days! In fact, the tree is becoming a litte Star Wars themed!
5. Favorite Christmas movie?
As a kid, The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus, Twas the Night Before Christmas, and Rudolph (anything by Rankin and Bass...) and Claymation Christmas Celebration. I loved them real bad. I still do! But the kids just don't get a kick out of them like I do! But as far as modern movies...ELF! and the Grinch (and not the Jim Carrey...ew)
6. Snow or no snow?
I like to look at snow, and I like to be out for a snow day, but no; I do not like to be cold. and if some of that snow gets in my coat sleeve, forget it!
7. Favorite Christmas song?
The Little Drummer Boy
8. Favorite Gifts to Give and Get?
So here's my little ol' list
Hubs and I are getting ourselves a couch for our anniversary/Christmas! Yippee! We adore Restoration Hardware, but have to save up a little for it! I also wouldn't mind if someone gave me Tory Burch perfume or the Dylen Anorak, either...a girl can dream
I'll admit that buying gifts for the boys is getting tougher. We don't want to get more Legos, that's for sure! So we are sticking with one big gift. That way I won't have to clean it up later! Plus, they get so much from others and they really want for nothing. But one gift I plan to give to the two littles is a Peekapak subscription! I got the opportunity to review one and they ate.it.up!
And it had everything needed to do the activities, so there was not searching for the right glue, or the scissors Mom let's us use, or the markers that aren't Sharpies! The first thing they made was a parachute with tissue paper, string, tape, and a cup. Awesome! I use this same activity in my Air Unit!
We also made a kaleidoscope with beads in a plastic container, silver cardstock, and a toilet paper tube (probably not from tp, but you get the idea). We had two pairs of scissors, crayons, tape, books and puppets, and we haven't even gotten to the tangram puzzles yet!
Peekapak wasn't just a great way to get my kids creative and doing something besides video games, it was also a way for them to play together! Peekapak would make a wonderful gift for a child in your life. They have a variety of subscription plans available including one month, three months, six months and one year. Peekapak is currently offering a coupon for $10 off and for a limited time the subscriptions start as low as $16.50 a month, use the code SPECIAL10 at checkout.
